LD configurations

i am curious of the configurations with ld mics, i see in rig photos that people run them standing up straight. What config would this be a also can you run them the same as small diaphram when i say this i mean with the cap pointed toward what you are  recording to achieve positions like din thanks mike

check out some of the recent moe show rig pics. somebody with LDs runnin DIN a different way took some pics...

yeah i think so. at first glance it appears that his mics are pointed in the wrong direction. but at second glance i realized that the caps were pointed toward the PA. mics runnin horizontal.

Thanks Moke I am going to be switching from small diaphram 391's to LD A51 TL's so i thought i needed to get some pointers on how to runs these beasts Thanks again Mike

Actually That would be great because given your past track record with gear. I'll be buying them from you for half price ;D. Just kidding Mike, good luck with the LD mics, I had wanted to use them myself.
