Ok, sold my 1000's and am 99% sure I am going with these ;D , a few questions
1) The shockmounts that come with them will work fine? (Is that what everyone uses?)
2) what kind of t-bar do people use with this?
3) Will my PS2 power these?
any other advice would be appreciated
thanks,
michael

1) yes, the included shockmounts are fine
2) I use a Shure a27m vertical mount and the akg t-bar with the adjustable "wings".
3) yes, the ps2 will power the TL's
-
i agree about the shockmounts - mine came with the supermounts and an aluminum case.
i use the shure vertical mount bar modded for extension. i have run the mics on the vert bar in botched non-coincident formations (where the mics are slightly different heights, and that does OK. I am going to make a t-bar with a baffle to run close-range split omnis.
i use a PS-2 to power my TLs. The battery life (if you use a 9-volt) is not all that great, expect to change it every couple of hours. i change mine every set to be safe. i now have a 9.6 volt external battery to power it, and it lasts for a long, long time.
so far, i have used the mics 20 times in the past 42 days. I have been happy with every single recording.
+t for coming to team ADK.

Thanks for the answers Craig T and Keepongoin, Moke just curious as to why you got rid of them?
thanks

I think the shockmounts are sufficient as long as you get the supers. I saw the non-supers, and they didn't look like they would hold the mic in an inverted position.
Also, the TL's are great for uyse in the home studio as well!

if it hasn't been mentioned yet, ADK's customer service is among the best in the business. Great company to deal with.
-
the standard mounts hold the mics in a visegrip like hold,... no worries.
There you have it!

Yup- I have dealt with Larry, and he was incredibly cool. Lent me a mic while another one was off getting repaired! That's customer service!

haven't seen it mentioned in this thread, but, there are 2 models for the PS2; a 12v and a 48v.
you need the 48v model to power the TLs.

I love my TLs. The regular mounts hold them upside down just fine. I was scared at first but after shaking my stand they didn't budge so I feel just fine about running them x/y
Good choice on mics +t

Great mics, just spent the entire weekend running them.....can't go wrong, got a cheap way to split the omni's also with out using a second stand.
-
As far as the ps2, I am almost positive that it is a 48v, but is there an easy way to tell?
Thanks
michael

PS-T = 12 volt power supply
PS-2 = 48 volt power supply

That sounds great considering I don't have to work Friday, but getting it past the wife is a different story, team married does have a downside sometimes :)
where is he playing?
thanks
michael

the hi-tone cafe on poplar...right near overton park and 3 blocks from mi casa. and friday is my birthday, so team memphis should be raging. :)

Happy early b-day, I hope I can make it, taped him in Jackson a few months back and def. had a blast
-
hope that you can make it, but if not, there will be at least 3 sources (480s, SKM184s, and TLs).

PS-T = 12 volt power supply
PS-2 = 48 volt power supply
a new naming convention from Denecke?
purchased my PS2 3 years ago, and its clearly labeled "PS2", but its the 12v version.
it will state if its 12v or 48v on the label.

my info was from the denecke website, so it is current. the change was probably because of the confusion.
