I have started using the 2200s with my D100 with no problems...only issue is the battery meter on my D100 is unreliable with these (to be expected) in that it drops to 2 bars in the first half hour, but maintains for the 3 hours (max I have tested so far) after that.

nick; you could probably push it close to 3.5hrs. i use Lenmar 2300mAH and they last me for 4 hrs easily.
the other night, i recorded Yes. total recording time: 2.5hrs. M1's meter showd 3 bars at the end of the show.

Lithiums own all other batteries, IMO anyway. I put 4 in my D8 a couple weeks ago and have taped ~5 hours since then. You can get a max of about 10-12 hrs out of a set of 4 (in a D8) if you dont playback with them.
As for other devices, id imagine whatever the max alkaline use is, multiply it by 3-4x

True, if you need extended run-time, Lithiums are useful. Only problem is you have to keep buying, and buying, and buying them - just like alkalines, albeit less frequently.

moke i've got some 1600 mah cells from 1999 that are still part of my production stable, albeit they're only used to power the d8, which feeds on four cells which makes it more forgiving than the m1/d100
i haven't tracked how many recharge cycles they've seen, but ... lots for sure.
i'll only ever feed my SBM1 fresh(er) nimh cells though. even with 2200 mah cells i can only get a reliable 2 hours, maybe 2.5.
folks who still spend their children's inheritance on lithium cells ought to reconsider! i've been using nimh exclusively since 1999, and how much money have i saved by not running lithiums? a couple of thousand dollars easy...

agreed, been running nothing but lead acid's since 99 and i bet i saved about a grand just on the d-8, hell, maybe 2 grand just on the d-8 8)
rechargeables are the way to go, id buy NORMAL batts only if i didnt wanna deal w/ it till then or i forgot my rechargeaBLES, WHICH I DID A COUPLE OF TIMES
