My SP-CMC-8 hypers (AT943) have been malfunctioning lately and I need a replacement miniature hyper or super card.
I want something with a similar sound signature (i.e. clear recordings with minimal crowd noise).
What are my options?
SP-CMC-25 or SP-CMC-4U with hyper caps? Anyone has a preference for one or the other?
cheers

Yikes, I just checked the SP site and it looks like CMC-8s are backordered.
Good thing mine are still working well at the moment; I'm a big fan of the small diameter: no need for a Kangol on my tiny head :>

I really like the CMC-25's. They're versatile and low profile... I don't feel like I'm usually giving up nearly as much as I'd expect relative to my A-rig. If it has to be 007 I'm totally fine with running the 25's.

I can see you also own a pair of 4.7k modded MM-HLSC-1. Here's your best replacement mic ;)

The MM-HLSC-1 is probably my least favourite of the small mics I own. Not as nice as the SP CMC-8H if you ask me.

darktrain has sold a number of AT943 sets, might check with him.

Love my sp-cmc-25s. Great stealth mic.
