Title: why does my D8 has a digital skip when I record?
Post by: Bloomer on February 17, 2005, 02:53:18 PM
The DAT playes back past recordings that I have made.  If I try to record something now and play it back it will have a digital skip in the sound.  An old friend told me that the heads need cleaning!  Anyone know what could be wronge?  How much will this machine cost to get overhauled?  And Where?

Kindly,
Bloomer

sounds like it needs a cleaning from Paul at prodigital. http://www.prodigitalinc.com/

he'll check the alignment as well.

paul charges $75 and hour. if it is just a cleaning and alignment it shouldnt cost you more than $75. last time i brought my d8 in, it cost $35 for 1/2 hr worth of service. ymmv.
