Title: Stealth mic question (SP-EMC1)
Post by: itook2much on March 26, 2005, 02:39:30 PM
Anyone ever used these?

SoundPro
SP-EMC1

Looks great stelath-wise, but is the max level high enough (105 dB SPL, 1 kHz at 1% T.H.D. (120dB when
Powered by our battery module))?

If you're going to "normal" type bands, alternative/rock type stuff invest in some better mics (cmc-4/cmc-8) and make a stealth hat.  If you look around there's multiple pictures of peoples modded kangols or baseball caps.  Some folks also run mics under dress shirt collars.  I just clip mine to a beanie and wear a hood up.  People at shows aren't looking for tapers, they're watching the bands, so if you don't make yourself known to the crowd nobody will think twice.

I've read a few stories too about the Croakies being known by security patdowns.

I agree w/ Evil though- if you get busted, it won't be because someone sees the mics - It'll be becuase someone sees you checking levels.

That's what I just did.  Well, CMC-2's into croakies.  Going to try them out tomorrow night in Cardiff (South Wales, UK) for Judas Priest and Scorpions.  CMC-2 > SP-SPSB-1 > MZ-NH1.
