Title: DiO 2496 Settings
Post by: blu666z on July 07, 2003, 09:29:52 PM
Any settings I need to know about that might not be obvious?  One I want to ask about specifically is Master Clock:  If I am transfering from DAT should I set it to S/PDIF In?

Yes. You should always slave the recording clock to the master one, unless you are doing on-the-fly SRC.

I am getting a LOT more pops with this new soundcard than I was getting before with my SB Extigy.  Any idea?

You'll need to increase the dma buffer size.  I had the same issues when I first installed it, but it works like a champ, now!

Ok, I tried that, but when I went to playback, it seems slow.  The pitch didn't seem to lower like playing a record slowly though.

Be sure that you change the freq setting from 48 -> 44.1.  That is why it sounds slow.  If you forget to do it the other way, it plays fast like the chipmuncks :afro:

That might be kinda fun!  Alvin and the North Mississppi AllStars...nice ring to it.

Got rid of the pops, I think, but still having the problem with the clock.  When I set it to use the S/PDIF clock, it sounds slow no matter what I set it on for playback.
