anyone remember how to make the battery pack for a D-7...was it like 6 d cell batteries and a plug in..?? i think i got everything at radio shack..but i lost this years ago at a dead show..yes that long ago....i would like to build a new one for my d-7...pm or email me at bigwurock@yahoo.com

4 d cell battery holder, adapt-a-plug cable, and a b adapt-a-plug. Tip + on the plug. Check with a multimeter before you plug it into the D7

yeah, rat shack. You can get all of this stuff for less than $10 I'd say.

I had built one using the AC plug, but was annoyed at how it would shut down without warning (no batt meter) as soon as it dropped below 6V. So I connected my D-cell pack to a small wooden block shaped like the 4XAA sled with 2 gold strips along it to fit in place of the 4AA sled of the deck. This allowed me to use the internal D8 battery meter as well as rundown the D cells below 6V towards ~4.8 V, which is where the D8 shows 1 or 2 'blocks' of power left. I was able to get about 40 hrs off a set of 4 alkaline D cells compared to the 15-20 I got via AC plug. It was also a much more solid connection than a simple plug.
