Title: Help with Cool Edit Pro
Post by: bossman284 on October 13, 2003, 10:18:38 PM
I need help!  I have a recording that has some trastic level changes within it, some due to the PA and some due to the taper tinkering with the input dial.  I've loaded the file into Cool Edit Pro, and am now trying to figure out how to get a constant volume level out of it.  I tried the "Constant Amplification" tool but that dosen't seem to work.  Can anybody help with this?  other than this problem it is a wonderful recording that I really want to fix.

There's no easy way.  If you have CEP 2.1, pop it into multitrack mode and read the help on applying volume envelopes - you basically draw out your changes over the whole wave file.  Then mixdown to see what you've got.
