Topic: XVID will not playback on my Oppo?

A guy sent me a show by an artist I archive.  It's audio and video.  An XVID the guy told me.  It's about 3.5 GB on a dvd.  When I open it on my pc it is an AVI.  It plays fine.  When I put the dvd into my Oppo [that has the XVID logo on it] it only plays the audio with no video.  Any ideas?

I've ran into this a few times on mine.  short answer with no real explanation is that the "type" of xvid isn't compatible.  ie the way it was encoded or something.  when I d/l tv shows I have to get the "regular" xvids.  the ones that were encoded as hd xvid or something won't play.
