Zoom H4N Unity Gain Question
« on: September 29, 2012, 01:40:32 PM »
So Im going to be running CA-14's >  9200 > H4N tonight for Greyboy Allstars.  The Zoom only has 1/4" line inputs which from what i've read are not true line level "ins".  Not quite sure how I should set the recording levels on the H4N to avoid any issues.

Was thinking of setting the gain on the 9200 to +10 with the volume all the way up then fine tuning the levels on the H4N.

Does anyone here have any suggestions of what the levels on the recorder should be, or at least what would be too high or low?  Cant find any info as to what unity gain is on the H4N so not sure where to start.  I know this board is not too kind to Zoom's but its all I've got for now...my m-10 will be recording my 391>ua5 rig.

Thanks!
Aaron
