well thanks for all the input, guys.  I've just started taking it apart, and BOY is it nasty inside.  I think I may just drop it and save myself the headache of getting it to work.  After all, I have NO dats at this point and am not really anxious to get started.

If anyone wants it for spare parts I might be convinced to let it go....

But I'll take second dibbs on it.  If Dr.FOB can use the display to repair his machine, let him have it.  I'm just looking for something to do with tools while drinking beer.

Edit: or I can forward the display after disassembly.
