chaintech av-710 is a nice-sounding and VERY inexpensive card.

Around $25 on newegg.com.  It's a 7 channel card, with the rear 2 channels using a seperate burr-brown dac.  You can set it up to run stereo (up to 24/96) out of the rear 2 channels in "high def" mode.

Interested in selling your audiophile 2496?

 I'm looking to pick one up . . ..

the juli@ is a real slick card...

Indeed it is and it appears to be based upon the same via envy ht-s chipset as the chaintech av-710 I recommended above :)

Get an M-audio AUDIOFILE 192 it rocks I have tested this card and it has minty audio very good specs. A big upgrade from what you have I also like digigram! they are one of the best pci cards out there. Until you go external FIREWIRE then options go into the $1,000's

I <heart> my Juli@
Does 24/192 and sounds very much like my Echo MIA.
Not too shabby analog ins/outs for inexpensive cards.

The MIA will only do 24/96 ...  you should have bought my spare before I sold it for $45 to Terpistone.
