Avantone CK40 = takin one for the team...just might be up for it.
edit: until I saw that little splitter box WTF

The Peluso P Stereo has a AC/split box but it is not needed for field use. I had Nick make a sweet Hydra 5pin > dual 3pins for me that sounds and works great. Is this the case for the CK40?

yea, but its a passive box that is only a splitter.  no phantom coming from it (that I know of).

either way, a custom cable fixes that issue.

ADK A51 TL's all the way!!  4 patterns card, omni, figure 8, and hypers.  They are large and heavy, but they will give you bigger muscles chicks dig muscles and LD mics.....
Barrett

one of my first impulses....

listened to some TL > Busman R4 samples this morning and I like. Having the multiple patterns is also very attractive for M/S,Blumlein.

and twatts has a MP on an aging thread over in the YS :hmmm:

I have a real sturdy stand but having one of these upside down for M/S or two clamped on for Blumlein kinda scares me. Looks like the mounts screw on the bottom so prob not that big a deal.
The word for MS, Blumlein, and XY is windtech c clamps to hold the mics close to stand for extra securtiy.

but the LSD2 would be another nice choice.  can do M/S and Blum plus the standard xy (and maybe healy omni).

Excuse my ignorance but what is "healy omni"?

what is "healy omni"?

Basically it's 2 omnis pointed to the Left and Right.  I usually think of it has having some space apart, like 6-12", as opposed to coincident with an LSD2.  I ran this way once with my Naks and it had a pleasant sound to it, except it picked up every bit of audience noise in the place.  For onstage taping with a quiet audience it might work very well.

A reading from the book of Oade... http://www.oade.com/Tapers_Section/streicher-healy.html

A variation of this technique, developed by Mr. Dan Healy, the living GOD of live sound, and a convenient segue into our next topic, is the near coincident 180 degree omnidirectional microphone method. Here a pair of omnidirectional microphones are placed approximately ear distance apart and oriented at 90 to the sound source, facing outward.

[snip] We did some of these at the Greek Theater, they are labeled as "critically spaced omnis", enjoy !
