Does it work REALLY with the NJB3 for sure, doesn't it?

I'm really interested in acquiring this one. How much hours does it run w/o internal batteries fully charged?

I bought one and it works beautifully out of the box. Haven't run any testing on battery life yet.

I've got one too. I've let it record for about 9 hours with just 1 green light shinning with no change. That's as much testing as I've done.

I found a cheap solution for powering the NJB3 in the field for extended time.  It may not be pretty, but I find it simple, easy and affordable.  And it has multiple uses:

http://www.hitches4less.com/stcoeljusyam.html

I picked up one at Lowes for 29.99 + tax, and it came with a free 70 watt power inverter.

Just add a universal car power adapter with a 5V setting and you are in bizzzzness!  Just thought I would share.

I think the point of these threads is to reduce weight and size, hell, that could prolly power a jb3 for months, a bit overkill IMO

But you get a flood light and jumper box as well (not to mention free power inverter).  All in all, I found it to be an affordable alternative.

I can see your point there, it would be nice to recharge the RC batts when needed at festies!

Indeed!!  Just thought of this, I can bring an extra set of computer speakers for play back, using the 70 Watt power inverter that came with the jumpstart battery.  I will be able to playback what I record at my tent this way......nice!!  Well worth the 29.99 I put out for this puppy, plus any additional weight.

There's a taper here in Raleigh that uses one of those badboys.  He says it great as its an invertor as well.  He runs using his AC wallwarts and uses the built in lite during setup/breakdown.  Not a bad deal, but its as big or bigger than the whole rest of his rig...

If the price ($50) doesn't bother you, Creative has JB3 batteries in stock at the moment. Don't know how many or how long before they are all sold.
