Title: Stripped AKG Bar
Post by: herrmann2burn on July 29, 2003, 11:41:33 PM
I have an AKG Bar that i havent been able to  use because the center hole that would screw onto the stand is almost totally stripped.
Anyone know if i can get it re-threaded anywhere?

Call a few local machining shops, I would think that perhaps even auto shops that do work on exhausts or local plumbers might have tapping dies.

It's a 3/4" rough or 3/4-20 I believe...

Thanks for the advice.
I think im gonna pass on Lee's Idea, Ducting it everytime, seems more of a pain in the ass.  Ill look around for a machine shop or something...or else ill just buy a new one  ;)

i'd just get a new one. Only 20 bucks. & you can use the old one for parts if needed down the road.
