Post by: tfs8271 on November 13, 2007, 11:49:02 PM
I have upgraded to winamp 5.5 after having ??? (which didn't work on that one) and I can't get .shn files to burn or play. My computer crashed about a year ago and I reinstalled everything. I can't get it to do anything with those files..................help I have some nice Dead and Jerry I've downloaded that I can't get to play or burn.

you are trying to burn with winamp?  if so why?

to play you need a shn plugin for winamp.  but may I suggest you try foobar for playback.  you need a plugin for shn for it as well but it is a great player.  uses way less resource and plays gapless without need for plugins.

Try this:  http://wiki.etree.org/index.php?page=ShnAmp

I use FooBar myself:  http://www.foobar2000.org/

Why not? I'm not sure.

Winamp is my first  ^-^ and I can't think about anything else. Although, I have read and thought about foobar.  :P

Ok, now I can play .shn files but I still can't burn. I do have the $19.95 "pro" version and enjoyed it.

I would just decode the shns with TLH or something, then burn them with a dedicated burning program.
