Title: Finding a dead/weak battery in a Series Configuration (Golf Cart Content)

I figured this would be the best place to put this....

We bought a golf cart on the cheap last month. It been dying after about a mile and a half of use, so we figure one of the batteries is probably on the way out. It has 6 batteries arranged in series. They're big, car-like batteries, 6 volt I believe.

Is there a way I can find the weak link in the chain? Maybe charge the batteries then find the weakest one? Or maybe run it until its about to die and find the bad battery?

Take/drive it or the batteries to your favorite mechanic or auto parts store. Have them hook up a battery load tester. The weak battery can be found in just a few minutes. The voltage of any questionable batteries will drop below 9.6 before 30 seconds or so. Good batteries should stay above 10 volts for at least a minute.
