Shelf That Clamps Onto Stand?
« on: February 20, 2004, 12:53:59 AM »

I saw one of these at a show, a few years back.  It was a shelf, like 1ft X 1ft that clamped onto the guys stand.  Had a preamp and D-10 setup on it.

May be a DIY.  Anyone ever see anything like that?

It's a shelf that drummers use to keep brushes, extra sticks ect on. It clamps on to whatever.

like one of these?

BINGO - give that man a CIGAR!

All it has to do, is hold a V3 and JB3, ecocharge can sit on the ground under the stand legs.  Clamp about eye level, don't have to worry about crimping V3 power or digital cables in a bag, don't have to bend over to check levels, flip tapes, etc.

This is about comparable to the shelf-in-the-bag thread that I've seen here.  For $40, it's worth a look...

Thanks for the timely response...

No way I would risk putting my gear on a shelf like that. It's one thing if some drunk knocks over your stand with your mics, but if you have everthing else on there as well, you are just doubling the potential damage. Keep it in a bag and bring a little fold-up camp chair/table if you don't want to leave it on the floor!!!
