strange observation w/my DVD burning software
« on: December 28, 2004, 07:01:11 AM »
I'm burning audio dvds that are 24bit / 96kHz.
when I play them directly into my Sony 3000es, it recognizes the sample rate as 96k. However..when I play them into my loaner Apogee big ben, it says the incoming signal is only 48k, and that is what the Sony agrees with from its output.

what's up with that?

On the burning software are you selecting 96k at the start of the project?

Yes, i'm selecting 24/96 and its burning 24/48...according to my stereo.  I've seen now that the sony sees only 24/48 as well, so its definately the software.  have you burnt any 24/96 stuff w/it and seen it play as such ?

d'uh...I just thought of something
the toshiba could be doing it.  i'll have to check that out.

The only 24/96 show I've burnt was the Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains. It registered on my receiver as a 96k signal. Did I pass along a copy of that to you? They have released several new rev's since that dvd was burnt. So it could be a software issuse.
