For around 15K, you can get the Deva IV AND the Mix 12 and end up with a much more flexible solution. I had a nice chat with one of the sound mixers when I was in LA last month. He has both a Deva and the Cantar, he said while there were a few nice features on the Cantar (sliding magnetic volume controls for example), he told me he preferred the Deva for day to day use.
Zaxcom is sending me a Mix-12 today, so at some point next week, I'll take some pictures of the Deva and Mix-12 together. I'm not sure I'll have the ability to use the Mix-12 on-location because of power and space concerns, but it'll be sweet none the less to play with for a while (after I finish the manual, Zaxcom will want it back.
