Anyone here ever tape at Ceasers in Tahoe?

I'm going to try out my new rig at Keller Williams this weekend and from my experience the casinos in south shore can be real assholes. Anybody ever tape here? Any hassles or did you walk right in with your gear? I can not stealth with my A51s's

I live in Tahoe and have taped at Caesar's three times.  (One SBD, two stealth).  The security was relaxed at the door - no pat downs, though backpacks might attract some attention (I always pocket my rig).  There are wandering security guards but it has alwasy seemed pretty relaxed.  I've run stealth mics and MD before but I'm going to try my "new"  Shure 588(don't ask)>Mixpad>MD setup in a near-SBD booth next time, carried in in my jacket.  There's always piles of winter jackets and backpacks everywhere.  I always ask the sound guys about a feed, and the twice I got "no" they were fine that I set up mics on the ledge nearby, covered discreetly with my jacket.

I don't know if you've been in the Caesar's ballroom before, so forgive me if you have.  It is my favorite indoor venue in Tahoe - nice Frank Sinatra-style horseshoe-shaped booths, good air filtration, red velvet curtains on stage, nice mix of booth seating in the back and dancing up front.  The acoustics are ok.  There are several booths near the soundboard that are good for semi-stealth taping (mic stands would be too much, methinks - just duct tape your mics to the rail).  Pick your booth carefully (see who is in the booth below you), though, if you don't want to record the complete, unabridged story of what a bastard her latest ex-boyfriend was.

Have fun!
