7xx Gear Bags
« on: May 18, 2007, 01:25:04 AM »
I am back to running a 702 and have just purchased 4021's.  I travel extensively with my new job and want to be able to pack my gear and have it with me wherever I am...

I have the small shock mount from DPA along with the X/Y // ORTF unit that came with the clamp.  I carry two batteries for the 702 and small windscreens along with a couple of .5 meter odd interconnects.

Can anyone suggest a bag for this small gear - any photos would be appriciated...  I was thinking, Kata, PortaBrace or Petrol...

All input appreciated!!

I have a camera shoulder bag that fits the 722, a pair of DPA boxes, a shock mount, and my DPA mounts just about perfectly. I posted pics when I got the 722. They're probably still up in the rig pics section somewhere.
Out of the game … for now?

I used a petrol and by far it was the most functional, protective and easy to use bag that I had used

I have a Kata Koala 3 that will be here today in fact. It looks like a decent sized bag that will fit a recorder & pre-amp with mic's. The measurements seem compact enough, you may want to check it out. I will post pics when I get it all loaded up.
I know you like, tape for people's approval and stuff, and wave your tapes around like they're your dick...  but even you can't actually think section tapes from philips sound good.

Mics: Telefunken Elam 260, 61, 62, MBHO KA200, KA500 > Niant PFA's, AKG C34L-MS

I use a North Face Kanga for my 184's, AT8410's, Orchid XLR's and the 722.  I slit the side of the bag for easy access to the 722 inputs.  This is a medlum-sized fanny pack.

***Semi-Hijack***

I am now in the market for a home for a 722. right now i have a nova 5 that i think will be a little too big for the gear i will carry. here is what i have:

722
480's in a pelican
big shure windscreens
dogstar XLR's (i would like to keep connected to the 722)
AT 8410 shocks
shure vert bar
windtech c clamp
bogen quick release clamp

i'm thinking about a portabace AR-7. will an RM mulit or an RM delux fit all my crap? i can't find the dimensions of either of these.
