Mini-Me powered by 8 AA's ?
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:43:09 AM »
I just bought a Mini-Me and am looking for power options.  I have a dvd battery ordered.
I have a collection of AA NiMh cells that I use to power recorders.  So I was thinking of getting an 8 cell battery holder from ratshak and rigging a connector for the Mini-Me, mostly to be used for backup power.
Anyone have experience using an army of AA's to power the Mini-Me?  I would be using phantom power.
Thanks,
Dave

DVD battery.  A fresh 9V/5400mAh should get you around  4-5 hours.

I have run a 4 alkaline D-Cell sled before, and gotten 2 hours....really fries the batteries, though, watch your fingers.  I'd predict your 8 AA-Cell sled to get you <90 minutes.

Sorta what I thought.  There's no such thing as a free lunch.

"Look, I have an email from the band that says I can record.  The venue rules don't say anything about generators, and I want to bring it in! The band is really loud, nobody will hear it."
