Just fell back in luv with Audacity.  I had a corrupted file:  0:00 minutes/seconds but almost 1gb file size.   Used Audacity and the below video to fix it.   Huge save!
 Also, thanks for the above advice on how to export it as a 24 bit file too.   :cheers:

Had an Audacity question, hoping for some assistance,

Recorded a long set last night and after 2 hours, the file started a new file mid song near the end.

How do I add the 2nd new file to the end of the first file within Audacity so it runs together and I can export it as 1 new file ?

Every time I add the second file it ends up below the first file and not after it. Many thanks in advance !

It's actually pretty easy.

1.  Import the two files into Audacity so they show as two separate stereo files (shown as one on top of the other).
2.  Highlight the entire second file (the one you want to add to the end)
3.  Go to Edit->Cut (or copy)
4.  Put the cursor at the end of the first track (Edit->Move Cursor->to track end)
5.  Edit->Paste
6.  There will be a line where the two tracks meet, just double click the line to get rid of it.
7.  Delete the second track below by clicking the "x" in the box to the left of the wav form.

You can use your function key F5 to turn the cursor into a double ended arrow (Time Shift Tool) and just drag the second one into place at the end of the first.
F1 will return the cursor to it's typical I-Beam shape and function (Selection Tool). When you click on the seam with the I-Beam, it will disappear!
Once you do this, you can delete the now-empty track below, by using the little X in the top left corner of it, to the left of the track name.

Thanks for this tip, never discovered that in all the time I've used Audacity.

Sometimes I wish it didn't do that, like when I'm trying to keep track of the split! I found I need to remember to mark the spot before I drag the new one into place if I want to know where the division (was). At least Audacity has a good UNDO feature with multiple levels.
