Topic: Counterpoint SA-12

My buddy that dropped the Crown DC-300 on me said he wants me to take his Counterpoint SA-12 (hybrid tube/solid) since it just sits.  He said that it is non-op and needs repair, but I am wondering if it is something that is worth repairing.  Alta Vista says $290 + shipping for most repairs.  I see a couple of ads for used ones on Audiogon in the $500 range.
