Yeah, I still use the 20 yr old recorder but recently refreshed my laptop hardware. For years I used to use firewire to transfer data from 744 to laptop/external drive. But since I haven't needed to do this since pre-pandemic, I just noticed my new laptop have no firewire input! I'm really at a loss as to how to do this now. Has anyone been able to copy/move data from internal HD to CF card within the 744 interface?

Page 47 of the Sound Devices User Guide for the 744t describes how to copy files between available drives using the menu system. You should have no trouble moving files from the internal drive to a CF card and from there to your computer through a card reader.
