Are fingerprints and checksums the same? ffp.txt = .md5??
Is it okay that my info is in a .txt file and the checksum/fingerprint is in .md5 file?
Text file should read band name-date.txt (ex) moe2008-08-01.txt
flac fingerprint should read band name-date-ffp-.txt (ex) moe2008-08-01ffp.txt
Info should go in a .txt file, fingerprints should be in a .ffp file, and checksums should be in a .md5 file. If you have the .txt extension on the FFP or MD5's, some programs won't be able to check them, such as xACT for macintosh.
Okay, so fingerprints are definitely better.
The nice thing about the md5's on the LMA is that if a file fails to verify, you get an automated email telling you exactly which files are incorrect/incomplete. I normally post both MD5 and FFP's with my filesets.
