This is my fathers old Tandberg 6X Series Reel to Reel...it has surprisingly good sound...it is a pure joy to listen to those old tapes  :)

Norway should be proud of this fine piece of art :-)

Melanie:
I had a Tandburg Reel to Reel, used it quite a bit in the 70's and '80s, had it overhauled twice before it was too far gone due to wear, built like a tank. Was fortunate enough to come across a Pioneer RT 701 3 head, 3 motor rack mount to replace it. Good luck with sale, preamps in the Tandburg were quite good as I remember. does this unit have the phono pre-amp in it? bob

Great to hear that. No, this one does not have the phono pre-amp.

goodcooker:

This is awesome that
1) it belonged to your father and now you have it and
2) that it still works - this has to be 50 years old by now

Gutbucket:
Very cool. Still sad I let my dad's Teac R2R go many years ago when it needed work and I didn't have a place to keep it.  Had a lot of fun using that thing late 70's through early 80's.
