New iRiver ?
« on: February 11, 2007, 12:32:10 AM »
I just received a new h120.  It appears to be a European model, because when in tuner mode it has a "EUR" icon at the top of the screen.  My question is would this make a difference in installing, and using Rockbox?  Thanks in advance.

no difference, download the original iriver firmware of your area...EU or US or JAP and apply the patches and install rockbox.
using the "wrong" firmware affects your tunerĀ“s frequencies....which will be wrong when using EU-frequencies in USA...

+T Thank You.  I'm in the US.  So I'm ready to Rockbox it.

for rockbox this won't matter at all since it configures the tuner itself (you can set the region mode there). It only matters if you plan to use the original firmware too (which most don't :) )
