M-Audio FireWire 18/14 Computer Recording Interface
« on: January 16, 2006, 10:46:24 PM »
Anybody know if this might work as a successor to the discontinued Edirol UA5? Unless I'm missing something, it looks as though it has all the necessary features, plus better metering.

And if it has the features, how do the sonics compare?

Many of the computer recording interface boxes require connectivity with the PC when recording since they rely on the proprietary drivers for configuration - bit-depth, sample rate, etc.  I don't see any external way to set these configurations, so I assume it can't be run standalone for our purposes.
