plug for 1/4" stubbies
« on: March 08, 2011, 08:12:33 AM »
I'm getting ready to make a set of stubbies for a soon-to-be-mine dr-680.
Chuck did a nice job with his in the 680 thread.
I'd like to find a TRS plug with a shorter body (something like a "George L" guitar plug).
http://www.georgelsstore.com/index.html
Looks like George L's don't come in TRS flavor; I want mine soldered anyway.
I could slice a neutrik. Do you think hot glue or epoxy would hold it together without the clamp?
I guess I could eliminate the neutrik housing and mold epoxy over the connections. (That makes me feel all hillbilly inside. ;D)
Switchcraft right-angle plugs are a little more compact than neutriks, but I'd like to go even smaller.

Any ideas?
Thanks

If you chop it it right above the lettering it will line up perfect with a chopped xlr.
