just ordered a walmart battery. now what?
« on: July 15, 2005, 03:32:36 AM »
no idea how to hack it to work for my v3.  I know leegeddy makes a nice little box to connect everything.  also i got the 7.2 volt one.  didn't realize it till it was too late.

If you're just trying to power the V3, all you need is a cable to connect the two.  Leegeddy makes these cables.  You could probably make your own as well. ;)

I'm planning on doing this at some point, too.  You have several options:

  •   replace the modular molded plug that comes with the Li batt with a Switchcraft S760K
  •   replace the modular molded plug that comes with the Li batt with an XLR connector and then simply plug in your existing V3 power cable's XLR connector
    •   this more modular solution allows you to plug any device into the Li batt that uses an XLR connector and uses the appropriate voltage
  •   pick up a Leegeddy cable - he'll make whatever you want, I suspect
You then may also wish to re-calibrate the V3's low battery indicator to your 7.2v battery.  Instructions in the Archive.  Though it's not really necessary since the Li batts have their own low battery indicators.

so I got the battery today.  my walmart doesn't carry them anymore so i got it online.  said it was the 7.2.  well the one I got says it's a 9 volt.  I assume the 7.2 ones say that on them and I really did get a 9 volt one?

If it says 9v on it it should be 9v. Godd luck with the hack. I hacked one to run my JB3. I get about 10 to 12 hrs never fully checked it.
Just curious where did u order it from and how much.
