Title: UA5 (line out, bypass the ADC mod) ?
Post by: Javier Cinakowski on April 26, 2007, 09:23:14 AM
Anyone ever look at modding the line-out of the UA5 so that it bypasses the ADC/DAC.

This would be usefull if you wanted to run the UA5 into a better ADC, or for patches, etc....

I am no electronic guru, but it seems logical that you could run wire from the end of the gain stage before it hits the ADC and run it directly over to the line-out.  The only problem with this is you would not get the line-in information sent to the line-out, only the mic-in.  To solve that you could make a switch to keep the line-out as is, or have direct analog passthrough.

Thoughts?

for some reason I remember that this is not that easy.  It's been a while since I looked into this but I imagine someone would have done it by now.
