What is standard thread pitch for a mic stand?
« on: April 18, 2005, 11:16:03 AM »
I know that the standard mic stand is 5/8'' but what is the threading pitch? I got a brand new manfrotto/bogen stand and need to adapt it to the correct size and threading

I have a friend who work at a nuts and bolt factory but the finest threading they do is 20. so where can I find a adapter that will work to convert the manfrotto top?

Check the Archive | Mics & Setup forum for a post on mic stands, including adapters required for the conversion, and then check the online retailers thread in the Archive forum.

Thread pitch is a weird one. 5/8" x 27 for American mics. Good luck.
