i've tried various different burning methods.  i tried using plextools software that the burner came with.  none of these dvds will play in my dvd player.  next i tried taking the downloaded file to dvd shrink, creating an iso file, and burning it with dvd decryptor and these discs won't play either.  i'm not getting any errors, just dvds that won't play in my player (and it's not my player cause i've tried some friends' as well)  but they will play on my pc.  i can't figure out how to burn the downloaded files directly to dvd decryptor.  it only seems to burn iso files.

not sure what i'm screwing up.  thanks for any help.  +t for effort.

your dvd player might be incompatible with all burned discs, or incompatible  with DVD+R discs.  make sure you are using DVD+R discs and not DVD+RW discs.  most players support DVD-R and DVD+R media, but  some players still dont support the RW re-writable discs.

Is this in PAL format?

i have copied many dvds using dvd+r media and they all work fine in my player.  so i'm sure my player plays dvd+rs.  there's just something about the way i'm burning them that i'm doing wrong.

i'm not familiar with what pal format is.

PAL is what a lot of EURO players use, its a quality setting.
pal formats wont play on NTSC dvd players(american) unless trhe player says so.

I assume you're talking about Pink Floyd's performance at Live8? If that's the case, then it may be in the PAL format rather than the NTSC format. Do you have the info file available? If not, could you post the link to the torrent site where you got it from and I will be able to verify whether the video is PAL or NTSC.
