spam?
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

Weird post but actually right.  I even kept a Technics RSM 245X deck with DBX because it had a passive pass through decode/encode feature.  But not sure what the hell the post is really about other than a manufacturers list.

Here the information on the manufacturers who have applied DBX NR in cassette tape recorders of the Top class is systematised.
Unless this post is similar to a spam?
Has a little corrected, virtually having divided the list a deck on two parts: more expensively / is cheaper.

Hmm, aren't you about 20 years too late?  Odd post indeed.

yes, strange thing to see, but coincidentally, something I'm sort of looking for. I'm doing lots of tape to digital transfers these days. I have about a dozen projects on the to do list that were recorded with dbx noise reduction. i don't have access to any dbx decks anymore. My old one has a dbx disc pass thru feature, to decode dbx encoded albums (and also to decode tapes played on another deck thru this one).

What I'm trying to find now would be some sort of plug in that could replicate the dbx decoding procsess...

I know there isn't officially one available. Any recommendations what I could use to uncompress the recording and clean it up properly? I already know plenty of crap I can do to it to make it worse! haha...

That's a fascinating problem-

it's interesting to think that it might be possible to do it with software but I'm not sure the phasing information would be corectly reworked in the PC. You're effectively asking for a digital alternative to an analogue problem. I think the process might be better in the analogue domain.

I used to work with a guy who valued the DBX stuff more than Dolby and although I never had any experience of the DBX process; I had nothing but hassle with the Dolby system.

I think your best bet would be to try and find an example of such a machine on eBay...

Mode DBX-disc allows to use the tape deck as the decoder of the soundtracks reproduced from vinyl records, written down with application of this system NR.

Theoretically/practically it can be applied to reproduction of DBX-records from the second Hi-End tape deck which has been not equipped DBX, using the first DBX-tape deck as the decoder.
