mini-me power / tekkeon 3450
« on: February 21, 2012, 05:59:30 PM »
Wondering if anyone has any experience running an apogee mini-me off the following:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/503090-REG/Tekkeon_MP3450_MP3450_myPower_ALL_Universal.html

Will this work? Length (w/ and w/o 48v)?  It ain't cheap so I'm wondering if this is worth it or what other options are out there.

Thanks

Don't own a mini-me myself but but it shouldn't be a problem in fact Ted sells custom cables to go from a Tekkeon to an Apogee mini-me if the stock tips don't fit.

Doesn't answer your question about the tekkeon but as far as other options, I have a custom cable that pigtails into 3 Tamiya connectors.  I power my mini-me with anywhere from one to three 7.2V RC batteries at a time.  I personally love this setup.  It's hot-swappable and I have an abundance of RC's at my disposal so I can swap out fresh batteries anytime.  Nimh RC batteries are cheap, reliable, fairly lightweight, and found all over ebay.  They take an hour to recharge using my digital recharge unit.  I run everything I can off of RC batteries.

Thasks tonedeaf.  Have a link or suggested vendor?

I use the 3450 to power my minime all the time no problems at all. I run the tekkeon at 12v.
