Title: littlebox > what cable? > M10
Post by: Massive Dynamic on May 26, 2011, 11:03:48 PM
I need a cable (dual RCA male, stereo 3.5mm male) to connect my littlebox and M10. There are a few cables for sale online that would work, but nothing with RA on all ends, and I don't really like the huge Switchcraft connectors that seem to be the only thing available for cable makers (pictures in this thread (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=143728.0)). Maybe a modified Hosa CMR-203R (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=hosa+cmr-203r&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=12061078592299162749&sa=X&ei=VQvfTdnRIIHg0QGMv7TdCg&ved=0CCkQ8wIwAg)? The molded 3.5mm end is nice and compact, and the cable looks nice and flexible. Or maybe this Canon cable (http://www.markertek.com/Cables/Audio-Cables/AV-Dubbing-Cables/Canon-U-S-A-Inc/CANON-4564A001-VC-100.xhtml)?

If you are using an off-the-shelf cable, I'd be curious what you are using. If you are using a custom-made cable, a pic would be nice to see.

I had  a cable made, plus I have this Rat Shack 1/8" > 1/8" since I have both outputs on my Littlebox for times when I want to run 2 units
I run my gear in a bag so I don't feel the need for RA cables

I've been using a cable that Darktrain included with his when I bought it from him. The blobs of black tool grip on the stubbies stick out a little further than thr RA RCAs so it doesn't really put much stress on the connectors/jacks while run vertical in a bag.

The neutrik ra mini plug is very compact and durable i have made tons of cables with those and on the rca end the switchcraft ras are top notch as are their ra mini plugs but they are a bit larger

Thanks for all the pics. Do most of you run the lb flat or vertical? How flexible is the actual cable used? That's one of the things I like about the Hosa cable, but wasn't sure what cable stock was being used by our TS cablers. Not sure yet how I am going to run mine in the bag.

I use a chopped right angle rca for my aerco because the switchcrafts are to low and to close to the gain knob.

I run the bag vertically (normally) since I have RA XLRs
and the M10 I run horizontally on top of other items in the bag
the cable is very flexible

I made my own RT angle RCA to RT Angle 1/8" TRS
see here:

I don't make cables for others - just for my own use- thanx

but Ted or Robb would make you a sweet cable to your spec

I'll be sending another PM as soon as I get my lb and decide how to set it up in my bag. Got enough Switchcraft RA RCAs and Neutrik RA minis?  ;)
