Title: ++RESOLVED++ Wavelab 6 won't access after 8/3 Win10 update
Post by: rigpimp on August 05, 2016, 10:43:33 PM
RESOLVED

My Wavelab stopped recognizing mapped drives and shares after the Windows update a couple of days ago but still see every other drive.  Any ideas what to try?

I have remapped and rebooted to no avail.

Wavelab stopped recognized my mapped drive.  I pasted in the network address //qnap/multimedia and it opened up so I just created a new network location in Windows and it works again...just not through the mapped drive.

I do not use mapped drives but I do have a windows home server (shared folders on the network) and was just able to open a wave file from a shared folder .  btw I've done the "win 10 anniversary update".  I assume that's the big update you are referring to.

It worked last week but it no longer opens mapped drives.  I store my raw files on a networked 20TB NAS.  I just tried to repair my installation to no avail.  Last resort is to uninstall and reinstall so I am doing that now.

Edit:  Completely uninstalled and re-installed and it still is not working.

Possibly the same issue as described on the Synology forum? (I can't verify this at the moment as I'm on Linux.)
Have you tried to assign a static IP to your NAS and to edit your hosts file accordingly?

I have my QNAP set on a static IP and edited my host file to include it's address to no avail.  The odd thing is that it does not show up in my network in Wavelab but the Plex server running on it does.

FWIW, I can access the QNAP from Windows and everything else just as expected but not from Wavelab anymore.

Glad this got worked out for you! A few years ago I had MAJOR WL6 problems[still don't know exactly what caused the issues], but since I switched to Win8 a few months back, my WL v6.11 has NEVER been so stable :) I had to switch to SF 10 for awhile until I got my WL6 issues worked out back then! Soooo glad to be back and solid with WL6, because its by FAR my favorite editing software for audio :) And its perfect for 24/96 taping, since WL6 can handles WAVs UP TO 4gb, while every other program that I know of can only write/handle WAVs UP TO 2gb :) That's a huge bonus IMO!
