Removing a hiss
« on: August 19, 2008, 12:02:52 AM »
So I;m the proud papa of a brand new song, so I decided to record it today using my Church Audio SC-11 mics and Audition.  Everything worked fine except for the volumes were a bit low.  I boosted em up, no big deal, but when I did I started to get a bit of a hiss noise, most likely caused by the fans running in my laptop getting into the recording.  I'm just wondering if theres a decent way to remove em, or if I'm stuck with it.  It's not bad if you listen to the song quietly, bu if you turn it up a bit it can be a tad annoying.  I tried using the hiss remover built into Audition, but that only seemed to make it worse.  Any ideas?  If you want to check out the problem for yourself you can go to www.myspace.com/gregkasbohm and it's the first song "The Questionable Paths".  (And I might want to warn you before you go, my singing makes Bob Dylan sound like Aretha Franklin :P)

Thanks in advance,
Greg

(And if you want me to send you a 10sec clip or something I can do that as well, thanks again!)
