On topic: I am glad folks are learning to tag. Metadata is important for your digital stuff.
Less on topic, but relevant: Mac users can use xACT by our own Scott Brown to do much of the same thing: http://xact.scottcbrown.org
for xACT, is there a way to pull info straight from the text file? i couldnt seem to find it. all i see is copy/paste the song titles, which also then brings in the track #.
YES there is and it's kind of hidden, so I can't blame anyone for not finding it.
Open up xACT and select the 'TAGS' tab from the top row, and add your files.
Click the little check box for AUTO NAME and a window will open called Track Name Input.
NOW there is a new set of options under the FILE menu at the top, including one to import a cue sheet and one to import titles from a text file. (Command-shift L)
Depending on the format of the file, it might append some junk to the end, so be sure to double check the list before you click the WRITE TAGS button. You can click WRITE EMPTY TAGS if you need to erase a tag. I like to un-tag unknown song titles (if any) after I tag from a list.
