Like it fine.  Very nice clean preamp.  Typical Millennia sound.   Haven’t had a chance to do a good comparison with the DAV, although that is coming up in a studio setting in a bit. Note that the Millennia is powered so as to be portable, whereas the DAV BG1 is not.  So if you are looking for something to throw in your bag and power with the usual talentcell or equivalent battery, the DAV isn’t it.  It is also kind of a an odd size, so, again, not bag friendly.

Great, thanks. Is the Millennia more transparent/neutral than your SD-788T? I'll be recording sounds rather than music and need an uncoloured pre.

Yes, it is less colored than the 788T, not that the 788T is all that colored.  Closer to a Grace, although not exactly the same. Construction is decent, although not as bomb proof as a Grace.  Of course, Grace isn’t making preamps anymore, so you would need to track down a used one if you wanted to go in that direction. If you want portable, clean and transparent, I expect you will be fine with the Millennia.

Thanks again. I have a bid in on an Hv32p but the owner won’t budge much, so I will probably wait for another. It’s too cold here these days to do much outdoor recording anyway.

Yeah, it took awhile before one came along at a decent price.  Ended up buying one off Reverb after negotiating with the Seller.  Good luck!
