look up the walmart battery threads...i don't have one but i imagine they'd be a kind of universal staple along with those players....it's just a 9v external battery pack.

Ray -- ua5s are really easy to power, virtually anything that puts out 7-12 volts will run it just fine (as long as the battery has enough current/capacity). A 12volt motorcycle battery might be real easy to find. Then, all you'd need to do is hack (cut in half) the power cord supplied with the ua5's ac adaptor, take a voltmeter to determine polarity (you need to be sure the positive from the battery goes to the right place in the ua5) and secure the wires.

hey, i dunno what youre talking about ??? ;)
well, good luck, you should be able to find one over there!

i just thought you said you used it in band practices and stuff
-
Ray:
Do you know how to soldier, etc.? If not, your best bet's likely going to be to contact doug oade and arrange to buy a pre-made battery pack off of him. The dvd battery pack won't work with the ua5 out of the box without a trip to radio shack (they have those in the EU?) or some quick soldiering to create a new interface cable.

yes the sp-pasm-2 mic/preamp
All the time. sounds pretty decent, actually.

talked to doug for a long time today, he said that a 9v or 12v dvd batt will work with the jb3, as long as i get a universal end adapter..no hackin needed

Pretty sure you mean UA5 here. This is true for the UA5. This is NOT true for the JB3.

youre prolly gonna have to charge that dvd battery between the 2 shows tho
you can do it, like dougb said, you shouldnt have to solder, and if ya do, crimpo instead, all you need is pliers for that

d00d, no paying invloved, are you trying to win us over w/ your money ;)
im sure someone would be willing to on AIM, i have never done that hack or id help ya
-
the only issue I see is determining polarity for the plug into the ua5. Get it wrong and you could (?) damage the ua5

Ray just look at the damn link I sent you over IM, there are clear instructions on how to wire it up. I could have a trained monkey or my girlfriend do it. So do like I said
1. Take a deep breath
2. Go to the Wally Mart or other electronics store.
3. Pick up DVD battery (9v) pictured in aforementioned link
4. Cut power cord for uA-5 and attach to cord for battery to connect with dvd player, making sure the polarity is opposite what the cord is before you cut it. So look at it before you cut it, and just attach the wire for the power cord the other way.
5. Get out and Tape :P
