Topic: I am trying to seed a show for the first time and have run into some isssues.

Hey yall, I have been taping for about a month now and I really want to seed my shows.

I am working on a victor wooten show and am stuck.

I have created the flac files, fingerprint and text file and am trying to use torrentspy to create the torrent.  When I create the torrent, the last thing the log said was "Torrent not found on tracker"

But the torrent was still created and I am trying to upload it to bt.etree.org and realize that I don't know what the db.etree.org link, or show id is. How do I attain these?

Do you know what steps I am missing here in the process?

I'm not sure about torrentspy, as I use maketorrent, but you are using the announce and tracker info as listed on the bt.etree upload page right?

The db link and show id won't keep a torrent from working. It is just to sync a torrent to show listings in the database. Your seed may not even have a db.etree link or show id.

Did you get the upload successful page from bt.etree after you filled out the upload page?

You have to start the torrent on your end before it will show up on e-tree's tracker. Sometimes takes a minute or two to work through the whole system. That may be why torrentspy gave you that message.

Edit; Ok I now have gotten a successfull upload, but when I go to seed the torrent I get the following error message.

rejected by tracker-requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker...

Help, I am soooo close to sharing the groove!!!!!!!

Edit again:  the error message has now dissapeared!  I guess now I just wait for someone to jump on this?

Sorry Joe, when I mentioned it took a couple minutes to go through, I should have been more specific. If you start the torrent too quickly, the tracker will not be updated and you get that message.

How about posting a link to the torrent page.

Thanks, It feels soooooooooo good to be sharing the groove. 300 people have snatched this overnight basically!

It has come to my attention that when people are playing this show there software reads the labels as a Victor Wooten show I just seeded too.  Does anyone know what I did wrong here?  Is there a way to fix this?
