:-[ I made my portable power supply today. I plugged it into my CO2...when I did that the LED on the CO2 flickered and then nothing....then i put the ac power to it and nothing at all....did i mess it up???
-
the CO2 flickers and then nothing when you put a battery in too. that's how it works.
try it out recording your stereo and see if its passing a signal... it should be.
-
how do i know if it passes a signal....and how would I go about testing it out...I dont have a stereo??
-
Did you get a burning or funny smell after you hooked it up?
-
Yes......
-
make sure the plug is lined up correctly. The white plug that connects to the cord.
Read the directions you have to line the arrow up with the side that says top.
Something like that? The package the cord came in says the right way on the back.
-
Nah, only I get that funny smell going on. But yeah, did you get one!
D
-
Kindguy...I am assuming you are talking about the white connector plug...I tried that with no luck.
But when i plugged the ac adaptor into the wall then into the CO2...still no light....agian how am i suppose to tell if it is passing a signal...???
-
You need to test it. You have no stereo?
Just for testing sake you could run a single RCA into the coax imput & hook the JB3 up to the optical output. & try to record it?
Would that work?
-
Also how did you connect the battery connection to the cord? Did you crimp it? with a crimping tool?
-
I crimped it with a pair of neddle nose plyers.
But this shouldnt matter, b\c it should come on when I plug it in using the adaptor that plugs into the wall right??? or am I way off base.....
-
heres one thing that might have happend ... are you using the adaptaplug thing like on the "jordan shapiro cable" ?? if so perhaps you put the wrong polarity into the c02 ... that would be a bad thing. As with most things i have MINIMAL knolage of this subject, just so you know.
-
Did the light come on before with the wall plug?
I never had a wall wart for my C02 so I'm not sure.
If it smelled funny after you hooked it up it may be broke. The most likely of reasons would be the white plug hooked to the cord backwards.
hope it works out.

Yeah it worked before.....
I did put the white plug in backwards and then had to switch it around...after i switched it the light flickered I smelled a burnt rubber type of smell and then it powered no more...
-
Sounds like you let the smoke out of it..
-
that sucks dude :( .... damn glad the ua-5 has a diode so does'nt die if you do that, just in case.
-
Ouch, did you pull a Daryan?
