Holy mackrel! Is Soundforge really $400?
« on: May 12, 2004, 06:51:33 PM »
That's way too much!!!  :o

Are there free samples or something or a way to get a discount?  I'm not even close to sinking $400 for a lousy computer program.

$20 - $40 is cool, but $400 gets a great big   :P

SF does have a trial version...

crack that sucka...

www.deja.com dog...

If you are honest, there are prolly other options, depending on what you want to do w/ it.  If you are just tracking, try cdwav - I believe its free

Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

You can get a trial for Adobe Audition 1.0 from download.com.  It is a re-branded version of Cool Edit Pro.  Almost Identical.

Sorry for that, looks like Skalinder answered your question.  I figure OSS is in everyones vocab by now.  I have used audacity but still prefer soundforge because of markers and reigoins.  When i was lappy taping i always used audacity to record.

I should have known that!  I've been playing with mysql and phpBB for a month now and that's what they are - OSS....... D'oh!

Anyway, I went with a free trial of Adobe Audition because I only need to do a couple of transfers.  I'll probably grab Audacity, too just to have it around.

I appreciate the help.  ;D ;D

Governor Jim McGreevey was equally disturbed about the upcoming population increase. "New Jersey cannot support all of these wookies," he said. "For starters, we don't have nearly enough kindbud. At best, we can muster up a Q.P. of some beasties, but we've not a dime-bag more."

Nobody's said anything about editing, unless its been edited (heh) out of previous posts. CDWave works quite nicely for recording, which is why I suggested it.

This might be a pretty dumb question, but doesn't Soundforge require an online registration before you can use it? If so, couldn't Sony track those people who are using cracked versions? Even if you give false info in the registration, they still have your IP and could request your account info from your ISP right?

does not require online registration, only to ahve a serial number to unlock the program itself
