LOL...i knew you were gonna ask schwill, here we go:

Custom EQ:

100Hz: +5
800: -3
3k: -3
12KHz: +5

Mind you, i'm using a pair of Sony MDR-7506 headphones as my primary headphone for the nomad, sometimes i use Grado cans, in which i have to rearrange the settings.

I thought EAX was just for playback.

Jeez, I hope EAX doesn't affect recording.

I don't think it does.  I still think it could eb a cable issue.  Rick had a cable that would go in and fit, but not all the way.  Have you used different cables before, gloco, or was this the first time with the JB3?

When I started reading my only thought was EAX....not many folks run line in on these so maybe the line in IS affected by EAX setting an optical is nots??

Yep, first time i ran the nomad as a recording device.  I'll conduct some tests with some bass heavy tracks in the same situation, meaning i'll run my m1 as well to see if i get the same bass difficiency on my nomad...something's gotta give and i can't believe a improperly seated cable would cause the entire bass region to be cut out, usually if the cable is loose or not seated correctly a channel cuts out.  I swear i thought i accidently hit the LF switch but when i check the preamp it was off.  At least the dat master sounds fucking killer.

were you running line in on your jb3?

Yes, i had the gain set to +6.

I used my MV100 preamp, had the nomad plugged in via the rca outs (ratshack rca>miniplug) and the M1 plugged in via the line out with a straightwire mini cable.  The LF cut was OFF.

you have to split one of the line outs.  You can't take 2 different outputs because the voltages may be different IE: +4dBu and -10dBV

in the past, i've ran 2 outputs with my mv100 (RCA for me and mini for a patcher), and both are unbalanced line level outputs.
