Who in Columbia SC can help Clay transfer his Zepp DAT master?
« on: December 16, 2007, 06:39:56 PM »
his M1's digital cable is flaked.

so what he needs is someone w/a DAT deck and a SS deck to transfer it to.
or any way to transfer the tape in the digital domain.

you can ping him directly, or me.

from the sound of things, I'd stop holding out for this copy.  He's being a bit of a stick in the mud about it.
wants to "maintain artistic control" over his source.

And he thinks passing along the master to someone to transfer for him comes under "maintaining artistic control"?  If he's that concerned about keeping it under wraps, he should get a new cable & take care of it himself.

And here we always thought that artists were the ones with the artistic control.  ::)

He doesn't have to share it if he doesn't want to, just seems kinda silly to want someone to transfer a recording he wants to keep locked down.

That said, the sample did sound pretty nice.

its not that he doesnt want to share it, he just wants to "direct" the operation.
whatever floats his dingy.

I think we're all set any way.  another mutual friend is going to do the transfer, most likely.
then he'll hopefully upload it to me.
and i'll host it...for you!

Not too many tapers down that way, really.  I'll let them volunteer themselves to avoid offering any names  :P

Look forward to hopefully hearing it someday.

Looking forward to hearing it whenever he wants to let it out.

A show this big, I can understand how he'd want to kinda relish the moment, so to speak.

Tell him to send the dat over to the person that lent him the dat recorder to make the tape in the first place. At least then he'd be returning the gear to the person that was good enough to lend it to him in the first place instead of being a f'in S.O.B. about it.

If it comes down to it, I can make it down there next weekend.  I live only 2.5 hours away and Heather's parents live there...  It wouldn't be a big deal...

Let me know...

Clay's pissed at me at the moment as I told him to sort of "get a grip" after his artistic control comment.  there was more to it than just that.  I felt he needed an ego bitch-slap.
he didn't appreciate it.
Apparently he's getting a lot of email from people yelling at him for not getting his shit out fast enough.

personally, I have much more to worry about in my life than helping him seed his copy.  I just dont get him sometimes.  I mean, he doesnt' even have a deck to play the damn'd tape on!  whats the problem ?

Hopefully this shows up eventually.  Really, if he isn't interested in  circulating it he should not have leaked samples, etc.  Now he just looks like a tease... ;D
