I've tried to get a JB3 from ebay with no luck. Would like to get something to tape concerts without the worry of flipping tape or swapping MD's. What would be a good option? I don't want to spend a bundle, I still hope to get a JB3, so cost should be minimal. Any suggestions? Is there any other mp3 players that record similarly to the JB3? Any minidisc recorders that record longer than the 80 minutes on a MD? I'm just starting to look into these options, so any help would be appreciated!

DAT would work since you can use 3 hour tapes if you want...but its a dying format. Some other MP3 type players have been tested, but I don't think any have worked as well as the Jb3...

did you heard of the hi-md units?
they are maybe another option for you?

kris, i wouldn't say DAT's dying, just being eclipsed. still a great archival media, with some pretty small, affordable(now) equipment. perfect for the newb.
